Troubleshooting VIN and Coupon Scanners
Confirm Caps Lock is Disabled
If Caps Lock is enabled, it alters what is being scanned into Driverse.
Locate the Caps Lock key on the keyboard. If a light is shown on the key, it indicates Caps Lock is currently enabled. Press the Caps Lock key on the keyboard to disable it.
If there is no light on the Caps Lock key, try typing in an email or other program. If the typed text is in Capital letters, it indicates that Caps Lock is enabled. Press the Caps Lock key on the keyboard to disable it.
Once the Caps Lock has been disabled, try scanning again. If the issue remains, follow the stesp in teh Power Cycle the Scanner section.
Power Cycle the Scanner
If the scanner is directly connected to the computer using a USB Cable:
Disconnect the USB cable from the computer. Wait 5-10 seconds.
Reconnect the USB cable to the computer.
If needed, move the USB cable to a different USB port on the computer.
If the scanner has a base:
Disconnect the base from the power outlet. Wait 5-10 seconds.
Reconnect the base to the power outlet.
If needed, move the USB cable from the base to a different USB port on the computer.
Test Scan in Notepad
Navigate to the Windows Start Menu:
Windows 11 Start Icon: Located in either the bottom center or bottom right of the screen

Search for ‘Notepad'
...
Open Notepad and test scanning a barcode.
The scanning result should be <coupon> (coupon = the name of the official coupon)
IF there is no result from scanning - Contact Support
IF there is a result when scanning that has ‘< >’
