Categories are used to create bucket groupings which your inventory items are then sorted into. Once sorted categories are assigned to specific services. Categories allow you to setup:

  • Service Review - Whether Manufacturer Recommendations will be used or not for the category.

  • Commissions - sets a commission rate for ALL items within the category, it can not be separated per item.

  • Vehicle Information Brands - please note if category type is set to other, a brand cannot be selected.

    • The Priority box indicates the level the item should be listed. Priority 1 would show up first, priority 2 second, and so on.

To add a Category:

  • Select the Inventory Management Tab.

  • Select My Central Inventory from the Left Panel.

  • Select the Category Setup Icon.

  • Select Add at the bottom of the screen.

  • The below Fields are required before the Category can be saved:

    • Category Code

    • Description

    • Category Type

      • Please note, Category Type is a preset list, if you do not see a category that fits, select Other.

    • Default Vendor

  • Once the necessary fields are filled in select Save at the bottom of the screen or press F5 on your keyboard.
