New Customer (License Plate Search)

Perform a customer search.

After search results in no customer found, select the New Customer button to create the customer record. (This is the only option if there are no search results.)

In the vehicle information window, select the license plate field (already populated) and then press the tab key to start the CarFax vehicle search.

Press Yes to accept the vehicle.

Review vehicle information and ChekChart item recommendations. Edit vehicle information where needed. (Scroll to view any additional information available.)

Press Save when done.

To check in a repeat customer follow the steps below.

Select Customer

  1. Press the New Sale button on the tablet home screen. This will open the Select Customer window.

  2. Select one of the available search options. (The most common search type is the License Plate search and is the default selection.)

  3. After entering your search criteria, press the Search button (binocular icon) Select the customer from the search results.

  4. Select one of the following 3 options to complete the customer selection:

    Option 1 - Press the This Customer This Vehicle button(most common)
    Option 2 - Press the This customer New Vehicle button then enter the new vehicle information (uncommon)
    Option 3 - Press the This Vehicle, New Customer button then enter the new customer information (least common)

  5. After finishing the customer selection, the main menu tabs can be used to review or edit information.

Review or Edit Customer Information

  1. Press the Customer tab to review or edit customer information. (The active ticket’s number will appear in the window bar.)

  2. Enter customer information and press the Save button when finished.

  3. Add services using the Quick-Add buttons or by pressing All Services and selecting a service from the available list.

  4. After selecting the service, press save to add it to the ticket. To override the price, a passcode must be entered.

  5. After adding the service, review the ticket list to verify that ChekChart item recommendations were matched to inventory. If not, double-tap on the “no match” item, and select an item from your inventory and click Save.

  6. Add more services if needed. You can also use the highlighted buttons below to add a variety of additional items to the ticket.

  7. When the ticket is ready for payment, choose a payment method.

  8. Review customer information and press Save.

  9. Accept the amount by pressing Save. The invoice and static sticker will be sent to printer.

The ticket is now closed.

This Customer, This Vehicle

When the search finds a customer that has been in before with this vehicle, that customer can be selected from list.

This will create the ticket. You are sent back to the main tablet page where you can select Edit Vehicle to view vehicle information and edit if necessary.

This Customer, New Vehicle

When a customer is found associated with a different vehicle, this option allows a new vehicle to be associated with the existing customer.

This will create the ticket. You are sent back to the main tablet page where you can select Edit Vehicle where you can update the customer’s vehicle information.

This Vehicle, New Customer

Not common, but this might be a vehicle that has been in the shop before but now has a new owner.

This will remove the previous customer information. and create the ticket. You are sent back to the main tablet page where you can select Edit Vehicle to view vehicle information and edit if necessary.

Review or Edit Vehicle Information

  1. Press the Vehicle Info tab to review or edit vehicle information.

  2. Enter or edit the information and press the Save button when finished.
