Verify Repair Order Printer Hardware

  • Verify the printer is connected to power and all cables are secure.

  • Verify the printer has no error indicators displayed on the LCD screen.

Printer Troubleshooting - Control Panel

To begin we will want to ensure that the Repair Order Printer is working with the Operating System of the connection machine.

  1. Access the Windows Start Menu by clicking the Windows Symbol.
    (The Icon will differ depending on Operating System)

  • Windows 11 Start Icon: Located in either the bottom center or bottom right of the screen

  • Windows 10 Start Icon: Typically located in the lower left corner

  1. Once the Windows Start Menu is open, being to type Control Panel.
    Windows 10 :

  1. Once Control Panel is open, in the right hand corner adjust the dropdown to Category (if needed); then click on View devices and Printers under Hardware and Sound.

  • Confirm the printer is showing as active and not offline (greyed out).

  • Confirmed printer is not in an ‘Error’ state.

  • Confirmed the Repair Order printer is set as the Default Printer (steps below).

Setting Repair Order Printer as Default Printer

  1. If the Repair Order printer is not set as the default printer, right click the desired Repair Order printer and click ‘Set as Default Printer’.

The bottom section of Control Panel should adjust to reflect the Default Printer once adjusted:

Test Print - Repair Order Printer

  1. From the Devices and Printers section of Control Panel, right click the Repair Order printer and click ‘Printer Properties

  2. Select the General tab, then ‘Print Test Page’ at the bottom right of the window

  3. If a test print is successful within Windows/Control Panel, access a completed Repair Order within Driverse and attempt to print a test by clicking the ‘Print’ button.

  4. A new window will appear that will show the customer Repair Order, click on ‘Print’ at the bottom of the window.

  5. An additional window will appear. Confirm the correct Repair Order printer is selected from the dropdown, then click 'Print'.
