QuickTouch FAQ: Why is it important to keep the Sage System computer on?

Multi-site Sage locations depend on automatic data transmissions to the NexGen system from each store for updated information.

DO NOT TURN YOUR COMPUTER OFF

NexGen transmissions are key to central office operations. There are many reports that guide progress and next steps. The site computer must be on and accessible for automatic data transmissions to occur.

The transmission happens automatically; however, Closing the Current Day is an essential component of successful transmission.

To close the current day:

  1. From the Main Menu, select Period Ending Processing.

  2. Next, select Close Current Day.

  3. This Day End Closing is just an example and does not contain data; however, the demo does provide the depth of data captured.

  4. Be sure to Verify the total by clicking the box next to each pay type, then click OK to proceed. In this example, the Visa pay type was verified as seen by the red checkmark.

  5. With the next pop-up, select Yes.

Note: Most shops will get a pop-up if hourly employees have not clocked out. This notice can be adjusted within Owner Setup.

There is the option to transmit to NexGen manually by double-clicking this icon on the desktop computer.
