Discounts
Add / Edit
1. Open eGenuity software
2. Select System Maintenance from top panel menu
3. Select Sales from left panel menu
4. Click on Discounts icon
Add a Discount
1. Select Add (F4)
2. Complete the following fields:
a. Code: Enter a code to identify the discount
b. Description: Enter a description of the discount. Can be same as the Code
c. Discount Access:
i. Always Available: Discount is available for use regardless of services or items on ticket
ii. Available if all categories and services exist: Discount is only available if a specific service and item(s) within a set category are on the ticket. Specific services are selected on the Services tab and categories are selected on the Categories tab
iii. Available if any category or service exists: Discount is only available if a specific service or item(s) within a set category are on the ticket. Specific services are selected on the Services tab and categories are on the Categories tab
d. Select General Settings tab
i. Complete the following fields:
1. Discount Type: Select the type of discount from the drop-down menu
2. Calculate Discount On: Select how to apply the discount from the drop-down menu
a. Apply to whole Ticket: Discount applies to entire ticket
b. Apply to Ticket Items: Discount only applies to specific services and or items specified on the Services and/or Categories tab
3. Issue Date: Enter the discount created or becomes available. Required field
4. Expiration Date: Enter the date the discount expires. Required field
5. Number Used?: No entry required. Software automatically calculates and updates count
6. Minimum Ticket Price: Enter the minimum gross ticket price required for the discount to be available
7. Max Number Per Ticket: Enter the maximum number of times the coupon can be used on a ticket
8. Maximum Currency Amount: Directly related to percentage discounts. Not normally used
9. Is Combined with Payment: Select to combine discount with payment
10. Record Group Code: From the drop-down menu, select the appropriate Code for grouping records
11. Is Employee Discount?: Select if discount is for employees
ii. Select Time Availability tab
1. Start Time: Enter time of day discount becomes available, if applicable
2. End Time: Enter time of day discount availability ends, if applicable
• Note: Most often used for Happy Hour Discounts
3. Day of the Week Availability: Select each day of the week the discount is available
iii. Select Prices tab
1. Discount Symbol: Select the type of discount offered, a percentage (%) or currency ($)
2. Default Amount: Enter the amount of the discount, either the percentage or currency value
3. Pricing Security:
a. Normal: Select to use the value set in Default Amount
b. Open: Select to allow entry of the value during checkout
c. Allow Change: Select to allow the value to be changed
d. Fixed: Select to prevent the value from being changed
iv. Select Stores tab
1. Select Is Enabled? for all stores where discount is available
v. Select Industry tab
1. Select Services tab
a. Select Is Enabled? for all services for which the discount may be applied
vi. Select Categories tab
1. Select Is Enabled? for all categories for which the discount may be applied
• Note: Categories are used for discount access and calculating the discount amount. See Discount Access and Calculate Discount On explanations in Step 2 above
vii. Select SnapStorm tab
• Note: This step is only necessary if creating a Loyalty discount
1. Number of Points Redeemed: Enter the number of points available for redemption with this discount
2. Required Number of Points?: Enter the number of points required before the discount is available
viii. Save (F5)
