Scenario #1

If the “Clear Backordered Purchase Order Items” is checked

  1. If the amount of received items is less than the ordered amount the purchase order quantity order will equal the amount received If looking at the Purchase Order from Edit Order.  The Purchase Order Receiving report shows only the quantity received. 

  2. If the amount of received items is more than the ordered amount the purchase order quantity order will remain at the same quantity as when ordered If looking at the Purchase Order from Edit Order.  The Purchase Order Receiving report shows only the quantity received. 

 

 

Scenario #2

If the “Clear Backordered Purchase Order Items” is not checked

  1. If the amount of received items is more than the ordered amount the purchase order quantity order will remain at the same quantity as when ordered but the received quantity on the screen will show the received amount.  The Purchase Order Receiving report shows only the quantity received.  See image below. 

  2. You can receive inventory for the items on the purchase order if they were not all received on the first truck, second truck, etc.    For example, if you ordered 12 1157 Amber light bulbs and the first truck only delivered 6 but the second truck from a different warehouse delivers the other 6 the next day.  This way the order amount does not change but does require the purchase order to be manually marked as received so it no longer shows up with items to be received.
